Colposcopy: We offer colposcopy for abnormal pap smears. HPV (Human Papilloma Virus) has been identified as the cause of 99% of cervical cancers. We will manage your abnormal pap smears by examining your cervix for higher grade lesions with a type of scope called a colposcope. A vinegar solution is applied to your cervix to bring out the abnormal looking cells under colposcopy. After this has been done, biopsies may be taken to further determine if you need treatment to your cervix. We take pride in making this procedure as comfortable as possible.
